Couples’ Guide to the Best Things to Do in Aruba
Looking for the best things to do in Aruba for couples? Here are 15+ top activities to add to your Aruba Itinerary!
Romantic Things to Do in Aruba for Couples
Sunset Sail
One of the most romantic things to do in Aruba for couples is taking a sunset sail along the island’s stunning coastline. As the sky turns shades of pink, orange, and gold, you can relax on deck with a glass of champagne and watch the sun dip into the Caribbean Sea. Many cruises include live music, cocktails, and light bites, creating the perfect mix of relaxation and romance. It’s an unforgettable experience that makes every honeymoon, anniversary, or couples’ getaway in Aruba feel extra special.
Aruba Flamingos
Wondering where to see flamingos in Aruba? There’s only 2 places to see them!
Flamingo Beach aka Renaissance Island is a private beach owned by Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort. Wondering how to access Flamingo Island? Flamingo Island is free for hotel guests to visit. Wondering how to access Flamingo Beach without staying as a hotel guest? As a non-guest, you can access Flamingo Beach by purchasing a Flamingo Island Day Pass (around $125—pricing may vary), booking a Flamingo Beach Cabana (pricing varies), or by booking a spa treatment at the Island Cove Spa.
If you’re not staying at the Renaissance Resort—or you missed out on their limited Flamingo Island day passes like us (Flamingo Island day passes get released each Saturday at 9am for the upcoming week)—not to worry! Another way to see Aruba’s famous flamingos is to visit De Palm Island—an all-inclusive island experience! Booking an De Palm Island Flamingo Encounter upgrade along with your De Palm Island entry ticket guarantees you access to their private Flamingo Encounter where you can see and lounge with Aruba flamingo’s. The additional upgrades range from premium seating ($55), Private Cabanas ($269), VIP Palapas ($275), or Beach Cabanas ($399). It’s the perfect alternative for couples who still want that iconic Aruba flamingo experience—plus De Palm Island includes unlimited lunch buffet, drinks—and lots of water activities!
TIP: Make sure to purchase both your De Palm Island day pass tickets and book your VIP seating in the Flamingo Encounter area ahead of time (the flamingo area sells out quick—which we also unfortunately learned the hard way haha).
Private beach palapa dinner for 2 at Elements Restaurant - Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, Aruba
Beachfront dinner in the sand at Barefoot Restaurant, Aruba
Dinner on the Beach
Few experiences are more romantic in Aruba than dining with your toes in the sand as the sun sets over the Caribbean Sea. A beachfront dinner combines breathtaking views, warm ocean breezes, and the magic of Aruba’s coastline—making it one of the most unforgettable things to do for couples on the island. Whether you’re celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply enjoying a special night together, dinner on the beach is a must for any romantic Aruba itinerary.
When it comes to choosing the perfect spot, two of my favorites stand out. Elements Restaurant at Bucuti & Tara offers private palapas that face the ocean, creating an intimate dinner just for two. For a more laid-back vibe, Barefoot Restaurant sets tables directly in the sand only steps from the water—the ultimate beachside dining. Both deliver that once-in-a-lifetime romantic beach dinner Aruba is known for.
Wine Tasting
For couples who love wine, Aruba offers a surprisingly romantic experience with Alto Vista Winery & Distillery. Nestled near the historic Alto Vista Chapel, this boutique winery is Aruba’s first and only vineyard, making it a truly unique stop during your trip. Couples can sample locally crafted wines and spirits while enjoying views of the island’s rugged landscape. It’s a slower-paced, intimate activity that’s perfect for an afternoon date—especially if you’re looking to add something different to your Aruba itinerary beyond the beaches.
Couples Massage
A couples massage is one of the most relaxing and romantic things to do in Aruba. From beachfront cabanas to private island settings, these spa experiences allow couples to unwind together while listening to the ocean waves and soaking in the island’s tropical atmosphere. It’s the perfect way to slow down, recharge, and connect during your getaway.
Two of the best spots for a couples massage in Aruba are Bucuti & Tara Boutique Beach Resort and Renaissance Island. At Bucuti, you can book a massage in a private palapa right on Eagle Beach, creating a peaceful and intimate setting with ocean views. Renaissance Island takes luxury a step further, offering couples massages in cabanas overlooking the turquoise sea, where privacy and exclusivity make the moment unforgettable.
Fofoti Tree - Eagle Beach, Aruba
Aruba’s Beaches
No trip to Aruba is complete without spending time on its world-famous beaches. From the soft white sands of Eagle Beach to the lively energy of Palm Beach and the calm, shallow waters of Baby Beach, each shoreline offers something special for couples. Whether you want to relax under a palapa, take a romantic walk at sunset, or dive into crystal-clear water for a swim, Aruba’s beaches provide the perfect backdrop for any romantic getaway.
Eagle Beach – With its soft white sand and iconic Divi Divi trees, Eagle Beach is consistently ranked among the best beaches in the world. It’s perfect for couples looking for a peaceful place to relax, stroll hand in hand, and watch the sunset.
Baby Beach – This calm, shallow lagoon is ideal for swimming and wading together. Its relaxed, laid-back vibe makes Baby Beach one of the most romantic spots in Aruba for couples who want quiet time away from the crowds.
Palm Beach – Lively and energetic, Palm Beach is lined with resorts, restaurants, and beach bars. By day, couples can try water activities or lounge in the sun; by night, it transforms into a hub for romantic dinners and cocktails by the sea.
Manchebo Beach – Just next to Eagle Beach, Manchebo is a quieter alternative with wide sands and fewer crowds. It’s a favorite for couples seeking a more secluded, intimate beach day.
Adventurous Activities in Aruba

Snorkeling
With its crystal-clear water and vibrant marine life, snorkeling is one of the top adventurous activities in Aruba for couples. Whether you’re hoping to spot sea turtles at Tres Trapi, swim over colorful reefs at Arashi Beach, or explore hidden coves like Mangel Halto, Aruba offers endless underwater experiences. From beginner-friendly spots with calm, shallow waters to more adventurous reef systems, snorkeling together is an unforgettable way to discover the island’s natural beauty.
Arashi Beach – Known for its calm waters and colorful reefs, Arashi Beach is one of the best places in Aruba for snorkeling. Couples can spot tropical fish close to shore, then relax on the soft sand after a swim.
Tres Trapi Steps – A hidden gem on Aruba’s northwest coast, Tres Trapi is famous for sea turtle sightings. The small rocky cove has three carved steps leading into the water, making it an adventurous and memorable snorkeling spot.
Boca Catalina – With clear, shallow waters and plenty of marine life, Boca Catalina is a great snorkeling spot for beginners and couples who want an easy, relaxing experience.
Mangel Halto – Surrounded by mangroves, Mangel Halto offers one of the most unique snorkeling experiences in Aruba. Its shallow entry points are perfect for wading in, while the deeper reef areas are ideal for adventurous snorkelers.
Malmok Beach – Though its rocky shoreline isn’t ideal for lounging, Malmok Beach is excellent for snorkeling thanks to its calm, clear waters. Many boat tours also anchor nearby, so it’s a popular spot to explore vibrant marine life together.
Conchi Natural Pool - Arikok National Park, Aruba
Quadirikiri Cave - Arikok National Park, Aruba
Arikok National Park
Covering nearly 20% of the island, Arikok National Park is one of the best adventurous activities in Aruba for couples who love exploring nature. Entrance costs $15 USD per person, and the fee helps support conservation efforts within the park. Inside, you’ll find some of Aruba’s most dramatic landscapes — from desert hills dotted with cacti to rugged coastlines where waves crash against volcanic rock. Highlights include the Natural Pool (Conchi), where couples can swim in a secluded tide pool surrounded by lava rocks, and the Fontein Cave, home to ancient Arawak Indian drawings. You’ll also want to explore Quadirikiri Cave with its natural skylights, the striking cliffs at Dos Playa, and the famous Natural Bridge and Baby Bridge, two of Aruba’s most iconic coastal formations. Most visitors explore Arikok by Jeep (a 4x4 vehicle is required), ATV, or guided tour, which makes the journey just as exciting as the destinations.
Antilla Shipwreck
One of the most famous snorkeling and diving spots in the Caribbean, the Antilla Shipwreck is a must-see adventure in Aruba. This 400-foot German freighter sank off the island’s northwest coast during World War II and now rests just below the surface, covered in coral and teeming with marine life. Couples can snorkel above the wreck to spot colorful fish and sea turtles, or join a diving excursion for a closer look at the ship’s hauntingly beautiful remains. The Antilla Shipwreck combines history, mystery, and natural beauty, making it one of the most unforgettable experiences for adventurous couples in Aruba.
My husband and I booked the Antilla Shipwreck Seabob Tour and we absolutely loved it! We were the only ones booked for that time so we got lucky with our own private tour! The Seabobs were super easy to use and so much fun! You hop right into the water from the beach and Seabob on over to the shipwreck. The guide did a quick tutorial and we made stops along the way to see turtles and fish. The Seabobs made it quick and easy to dive and zip through the water.
Tip for my fellow females: Wear a one piece swimsuit or opt for a wetsuit over your swimwear! I made the mistake of wearing a two piece and it was not fun trying to keep it from flying off the entire time haha.
De Palm Island
For couples who want a mix of adventure and fun, De Palm Island is one of the best day trips in Aruba. This private island offers an all-inclusive experience with unlimited food, drinks, and activities that make it easy to spend an entire day exploring. Adventurous couples can snorkel in crystal-clear waters, take on the famous banana boat rides, or try the island’s thrilling water park slides. For a more upscale escape, you can upgrade to a private cabana or lounge chairs in their private flamingo area to relax and hang with the island’s flamingos. With so many options packed into one place, De Palm Island is a playful yet romantic adventure perfect for couples visiting Aruba.

Horseback Riding
Exploring Aruba on horseback is a unique adventure that combines breathtaking scenery with a touch of romance. Local ranches offer guided horseback riding tours along the island’s rugged northern coast, through desert trails dotted with cacti, and even toward landmarks like the Natural Pool or Alto Vista Chapel. Couples can experience the thrill of riding across Aruba’s dramatic landscape together while taking in ocean views and quiet stretches of untouched terrain. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, horseback riding in Aruba is an adventurous way to connect with both the island’s natural beauty and each other.
Dos Playa - Arikok National Park, Aruba
Hiking
While Aruba is best known for its beaches, the island also offers some incredible hiking trails for adventurous couples. One of the most popular hikes is Hooiberg, a volcanic formation with 561 steps leading to panoramic island views. Inside Arikok National Park, couples can trek to the Natural Pool (Conchi) or follow trails to the dramatic cliffs at Dos Playa. For coastal scenery, the California Lighthouse and Dunes Trail provides sweeping views of the sea and desert landscape, while Seroe Colorado at the island’s southern tip offers rugged paths near Baby Beach. These hikes showcase a side of Aruba that many visitors miss—where desert terrain meets turquoise ocean, creating unforgettable views for couples who love to explore together.
California Sand Dunes
Located near the California Lighthouse at Aruba’s northern tip, the California Sand Dunes are a striking natural wonder that adventurous couples will love exploring. The area is filled with rolling white dunes, rugged desert terrain, and sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. While the dunes aren’t meant for driving (off-roading is prohibited), they’re perfect for walking, photography, and taking in the island’s dramatic landscape. Visiting the California Sand Dunes is often paired with a stop at the nearby lighthouse, making it a scenic and memorable adventure that shows off Aruba’s unique desert-meets-ocean beauty.
Unique Things to Do in Aruba
Donkey Sanctuary
For a heartwarming and unique experience, couples can visit the Aruba Donkey Sanctuary, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and caring for the island’s donkeys. Once the primary mode of transportation in Aruba, donkeys are now protected and loved thanks to this sanctuary. Visitors can feed and interact with the animals, learn about their history on the island, and even adopt a donkey to support ongoing care. It’s a peaceful and meaningful outing that combines animal encounters with local culture, making it one of the most unique things to do in Aruba for couples.
Ostrich Farm
A visit to the Aruba Ostrich Farm is both educational and entertaining, offering couples a chance to see these fascinating birds up close. Guided tours teach you about ostrich behavior and their African origins, and you’ll even have the chance to feed them by hand. The farm also features emus and a small gift shop with ostrich-themed souvenirs. It’s a quirky, offbeat stop that adds something truly different to your Aruba itinerary.
Aruba Aloe Farm
Dating back to 1890, the Aruba Aloe Factory & Museum is one of the island’s most historic and unique attractions. Couples can tour the aloe fields, watch the production process, and learn how Aruba became one of the world’s leading aloe exporters. The on-site shop sells high-quality skincare products made locally, making it a great place to pick up a useful and authentic souvenir. It’s a cultural and wellness experience in one.
Butterfly Farm
Step into a tropical oasis at The Aruba Butterfly Farm & Nectar Café, where hundreds of butterflies from around the world flutter among lush gardens. Couples can stroll through the tranquil space, enjoying a slower-paced, romantic experience away from the busy beaches. Guided tours share fascinating insights into butterfly lifecycles, and morning visitors may even witness butterflies emerging from their cocoons. After exploring, you can relax at the Nectar Café, making it both a peaceful and educational stop. With its colorful atmosphere and photo-worthy scenery, the Butterfly Farm is one of the most charming and unique things to do in Aruba.
